Kubhus is a construction play system based on modular wooden parts that gives children aged 2 and more the opportunity to promote their psychomotor development and spatial and multisensory perception.
Origin and benefits
As parents who care about the holistic development of our children, we are concerned to see how a lack of physical activity at a young age, overstimulation through electronics and the general use of plastic toys that are unsustainable and in some cases even harmful, is affecting the balanced teaching of holistic and cognitive skills. Kubhus counters this trend. The creative design of kubhus, adapted to the individual needs of the child, promotes not only spatial imagination but also motor skills and mobility. Due to this outstanding feature, kubhus can be built almost flat and safe for small children or high and challenging for older children. In addition, kubhus can function as a piece of furniture, e.g. bed, desk, shelf, seat, etc., which once again emphasises the versatility and sustainability of the product.
Kubhus is unique in the world in its variability of configurations and flexibility of expansion, considering the size of the game! We would like to emphasise that this is a wooden "brick" style game, with a tactile quality far superior to plastic. Imagining, assembling, moving and disassembling is an essential part of the kubhus game and is practically limitless. Be it a house, a tower, a castle, a parkour with elements such as beams, a climbing wall, a ladder and platforms that can be placed at the height parents deem appropriate, let their creativity run wild!
Eduardo Pacheco Höpfl, industrial designer, born in 76, is the creator of this modular wooden playhouse called Kubhus, which he designed for his daughter in 2016. The products available on the market were not satisfactory in terms of quality and promotion of child development. The original Kubhus is still an essential part of his daughter's daily routine and has become a game changer for the family, especially during the pandemic. The current Kubhus model is the fifth version and has been constantly optimised and overworked to be absolutely sure that it is a mature product that can be presented to the public.
«Kubhus promotes psychomotor development, spatial and multisensory perception and the attitude to overcome challenges. You can create with your children carefully challenging situations or simply a space for them to abstract themselves in their developing universe: so that they grow in a balanced and integral way».
